Full Time Bookkeeper:

Abbey Carpet & Floor of Puyallup

We are a full-service retail flooring company providing flooring and installation sales. We are a locally owned family business. We are looking for a full-time enthusiastic bookkeeper to join our team. We are looking for someone who is friendly, outgoing, a self-starter, a team player. We strive to offer our clients the highest level of customer service and experience. The right candidate must be highly motivated and work well in a small office environment.

Candidate will have the following:

  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Must have a good understanding of accrual basis of accounting and Balance Sheet interpretation
  • Familiar with RFMS flooring software, or a willingness to learn and understand
  • Bi-monthly payroll processing including all quarterly and end of year state and federal tax filings and W-2's
  • Manage employee leave, sick, vacation, personal time, unpaid hours, etc. Oversee and manage time sheets, analyzing O/T and addressing or confirming information as needed
  • HR responsibilities from employee on-boarding and set up, new hire reporting, benefits administration, 401(k) administration and compliance
  • Maintain all Accounts Payable from invoice entry through payment including all coding, posting, payment, maintenance of vendor information, and year end 1099's
  • Posting of all company credit card and gas receipts. Reconciling statements and auditing of transactions.
  • Monthly B&O Tax reporting to Washington State and Quarterly/Annual B&O reporting to Cities.
  • Maintain all company licensing requirements - employee, state, cities
  • Balances general ledger by verifying and reconciling all accounts. Financial statement preparation, reconciling entries and submitting backups to CPA.
  • Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends to inform General Manager
  • Data entry skills, accounting, attention to detail, maintain strict confidentiality of all information
  • Work and answer directly to the General Manger, providing reports, documents and information pertaining to the financial health
  • Participate in constant training of RFMS software system
  • Superior problem solving, troubleshooting, research and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and customer relation skills
  • Excellent multi-tasking, organization, and prioritizing skills

Job Description:
Help answer phones in showroom and route calls as needed

  • Assist clients in buying and selection process
    o Schedule selection appointments with homeowners
  •  Measure projects
  • Prepare quotes for client’s
    o Follow up on quotes
  • Track client interactions
    o All contact is documented and noted
  • Perform Order Entry
    o Ensure all material lines are imputed and ready for purchasing
  • Ensure client satisfaction
  • Complete Thank You cards
  • Track completion of projects and notify accounting for invoicing
  • Help accounting with follow up for payment
  • Complete work orders
    o Enter all details to help scheduling
  • Work with Manager to set sales goal’s
  • Attend sales meetings
  • Bring in new business
  • Networking
  • Work with sales reps for product specifications or product info
  • Schedule job walks with client’s
  • Review sales reports monthly with manager
  • Yearly review with manager
